Mobile phones that are not being used are all over the world. Many people will have at least one or two old mobiles just gathering dust at home. But there are some clever people who have discovered that there is money to be made from these devices that people are no longer using. This is because they know that plenty of people are willing to pay money for the unwanted mobile phones of other people. If you want to make some extra cash from selling your old mobile phones then the following tips should help.

- Most people who are selling old mobile phones will be prepared to sell them quite cheaply because they do not value them anymore. Many people feel that selling on an old mobile phone would be a lot of hassle and because of this they are willing to accept a small sum. So many people would accept a very low price for their old mobile phone and they would actually view this as though you were doing them a favour.

- However you will have to do some research if you want to be able to make money from selling old mobile phones. How much each phone will probably sell for is something that you have to find out. The reason for this is so that you don’t end up paying more for one of these old phones than you will be able to sell it for.

- You need to find a market for these second hand phones. A popular choice these days is eBay but there are other options as well.

- If you want to make this into a full time occupation then you will probably need some start up capital. It is probably best to start off part time and only quit your day job when you are sure of a regular stream of income. There will be times when you are not making much cash with a job like this so that is why it is important that you have some savings behind you.

With the majority of the country putting a large emphasis on saving money, it’s important to try and make some extra cash wherever you can. Fortunately, with the rapid growth of sites like Amazon, eBay, etc. it’s very easy to shift your unwanted items, gifts and stocking fillers that are taking up space in the house and get some extra cash.

Online auction sites are extremely good for selling the things you no longer need or want. All you have to do to get started is register with PayPal, which will need to link to your bank account, then sign up to eBay, Amazon and any other sites you want to utilise. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to list and sell pretty much anything on both sites and quickly start making money. Usually these kinds of sites will have their own feed-back system, meaning buyers can see how good you are as a seller. At first you’ll need to work to build up your feedback profile but once you have done, if you can keep the feedback mainly positive you should have no problem attracting bids and sales.

Amazon is best for selling CD’s, DVD’s, etc. although recently they’ve moved into much wider markets. Ebay on the other hand is much more general and you can sell practically anything, from unwanted 18th birthday gifts to used cars. The only really difficult items to sell are personalised gifts, as they’re so specific to people.

When you make a sale, ensure you properly protect the item for the post and send it as quickly as you can. You should also be as honest as you can be with your descriptions and pictures, this way you’re far more likely to get good feedback from your buyers.
